Northern Mark were instructed to deliver the conversion of a derelict agricultural barn, into an energy efficient home. in Herefordshire. With planning permission already granted, we are partnering with the original architect 3D Eco in giving the Dutch barn a brand new lease of life, with construction due to begin in 2022.

On the fringes of the West Country, Orchard Barn is the epitome of country living. Repurposing the barn, the home will retain the original agricultural aesthetic with new profiled cladding and roofing, an exposed steel frame and large external sliding barn doors. Floor to ceiling windows will capture panoramic views blurring the line between the inside and outside spaces. Energy Efficient Home
Orchard Barn will be an ultra energy efficient home, employing intelligent building design, & renewable technologies. Using timber Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) construction and high-performance glazing, the home will be super air-tight, with enhanced levels of insulation to minimise energy consumption and reduce the site’s carbon footprint.
