Making a small space feel big.

With a 3.5m width to the house, and a limit of 3m on the extension, space really is at a premium! The challenge of the brief was to make three rooms (kitchen, living and dinning) all work within one single volume, whilst maintaining a sense of space and openness.

Opening up the rear of the house, the single storey extension connects the new kitchen, dining and living space to a beautifully vibrant garden. The soft internal pallet allows the garden to be the main focal point, and the generously sized bi-folding window and rooflight allow light to flood into the house.

More space saving.

There has been a clever and creative approach to the internal fit out to help with space saving.

The Integrated bespoke shelving & storage makes for the most efficient use of space, and an exposed timber joist ceiling gives that extra bit of height to the extension. A bench has also been integrated into the back of a run of kitchen units to provide seating for the dining table - it even doubles up as a cat cave for the client’s ginger tabby!

“The soft internal pallet allows the garden to be the main focal point.”
